Darlene Tenes of CasaQ, a food writer, cooking instructor and television presenter, is renowned for creating exclusive culinary events and cultural experiences which incorporate the traditions and customs of Spain, Mexico and Latin America. Since 2002 she has been a television food correspondent sharing recipes and entertaining tips on NBC, CBS and PBS. She is notorious in Silicon Valley for her stylish and creative society events with impeccable menus to impressive decor, flawlessly merging cultural traditions with a modern twist. She is best known for co-hosting the CasaQ / NBC Best Darn Tamale contest and being an expert on tamales.


Ms. Tenes has been a food correspondent giving cooking demos and providing commentary on NBC, CBS and PBS. Since 2005 she has been Co-Host and Founder of CasaQ & NBC Bay Area Best Darn Tamale contest, a national competition amongst professional tamale makers across America to compete for the title of Best Darn Tamale in the USA.
