Join us in exploring the Land of Enchantment during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the most magical time of the year.  You’ll be in awe as hundreds of hot air balloons ascend into the beautiful New Mexico sky. Few spectacles on earth rival the Mass Ascension, as hundreds of hot air balloons lift off from Balloon Fiesta Park to drift in the crisp early-morning high-desert air.  This memorable tour also features an evening balloon glow with fireworks, a visit to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Old Town Albuquerque, a day trip to historic Santa Fe and exploration of New Mexico’s famous cuisine.

Balloon Fiesta: Mass Ascension

This morning it is up, up, and away bright and early to Balloon Fiesta Park and the Mass Ascension.  Mass Ascension, a launch of all the participating balloons have been a feature of Balloon Fiesta since its earliest days and is the most spectacular display of sound and color in all of aviation. The sight will leave you breathless!  


Balloon Ride*

This is your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take to the skies in an early morning balloon ride floating alongside 500+ air balloons during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. You’ll float serenely above Albuquerque’s scenic Rio Grande and enchanting southwestern vistas.

Old Town Albuquerque Food & History Tour

You take a leisurely walking tour highlighting the history and culture of  Old Town Albuquerque while enjoying fabulous food tastings, alcoholic drink pairings, a dessert tasting from some of the best restaurants in town.

San Felipe de Neri Church & Gift Shop

We’ll enjoy a private tour of San Felipe de Neri Church and museum, a historic Catholic church located in Old Town Plaza. Built in 1793, it is the home of Sister Blandina known as “the fast nun in the west” who took on Billy the Kid during the Wild West era and is on the pathway to Sainthood. Following the tour you will have an opportunity to go to mass and/or do more shopping.

Pueblo Harvest Cafe is a restaurant and bakery known for its extraordinary New Native American Cuisine, which incorporates traditional Pueblo flavors into contemporary cooking. Their seasonal menus bridge cultures by pairing traditional indigenous foods with culinary influences from around the world.

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center

We’ll visit The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center museum and gift shop, the preeminent place to discover the history, culture, and art of the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico.  The center and gift shop, owned and operated by the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico, brings you an unsurpassed collection of original, handcrafted works from Native American artists.


Native American Dance

During your visit you’ll have an opportunity to witness a Pueblo community celebration of prayer, song, and dance showcasing dance groups from the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico, as well as Plains Style, Navajo, Apache, and Hopi dancers.

Balloon Glow & Fireworks

Balloon glows were invented in Albuquerque in 1979 when local pilots kept their inflated balloons tethered to the ground and light them from inside.  The sight of balloons lit from within at night like giant holiday ornaments is breathtaking, and glow events are now held all over the world. Fiesta Glow all burns when all the balloons fire their burners and light up at the same time are perhaps the most spectacular single moment in all of Balloon Fiesta. Following the Balloon Glow is a fantastic fireworks display adding to Balloon Fiesta’s most popular events.

Visit Balloon Fiesta’s Main Street to enjoy the numerous strolling entertainers, music stages and over 46 food vendors.

Santa Fe Day Trip

8:30 am – 10:05am

Rail Runner Express

We’ll board the Rail Runner Express train between Albuquerque and Santa Fe to admire the scenery and landscapes which haven’t changed much since Don Pedro de Peralta marched his army north along the Rio Grande and founded Santa Fe 400 years ago.  You’ll get a glimpse of history while passing North America’s oldest settlements, indian villages and mission churches. We’ll hop off the Rail Runner in Santa Fe, New Mexico’s capital which sits in the Sangre de Cristo foothills. It’s renowned for its Pueblo-style architecture and as a creative arts hotbed. Founded as a Spanish colony in 1610, it has at its heart the traditional Plaza.

Old Town Santa Fe Progressive Lunch & Old Town Tour

Santa Fe is a foodie paradise with so many restaurants it can be overwhelming to visitors! During your progressive lunch you’ll take a leisurely walking tour stopping by the historical sights of Santa Fe Plaza, St Francis Cathedral, The Loretto Chapel’s Miraculous Staircase and San Miguel Mission. Along the way you’ll stop at some of the finest dining spots in Old Santa Fe for fabulous food and beverage tastings of their specialities.


Next we’ll meet personally with the owners of LJS Jewelry & Things Finer shops who will show us the finest in New Mexico jewelry and Spanish antiquities.

Following you’ll have lots of free time to explore numerous nearby landmarks such as the New Mexico Museum of Art, Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, New Mexico History Museum and Institute of American Indian Arts, or do more shopping at the street vendors to fine upscale boutiques that fill the plaza. A little further out but well worth the trouble is Meow Woof, an amazing immersive art installation.

Two art-lovers events happening on that day are the Santa Fe Society of Artists Fine Arts Show  and for the first time ever in the United States, the Museo del Prado in Madrid will host Prado en Santa Fe, an outdoor exhibition containing 92 full scale and high quality reproductions of masterpieces in the Prado collection.

Nestled in the heart of the historic La Fonda Hotel on the Plaza, La Plazuela will take you on a food adventure that offers an intimate dining experience, presenting guests with tantalizing New World twists on Southwestern cuisine.
