Christmas in San Miguel de Allende & Guanajuato – Shopping & Food Tour

San Miguel BannerNamed by Condé Naste Traveler Magazine as one of the top five destinations in the world, San Miguel de Allende is a city rich with history and culture. This 400-year-old colonial town located in the core of central Mexico in the state of Guanajuato, rests at 6,400 feet among a vast plateau of rolling hills in the Sierra Madre mountain range. The main attraction of the town is its well-preserved historic center, filled with buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. This and the nearby town of Guanajuato have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

In the historic center, there are an estimated two thousand colorful doors each opening into a magical world of upscale art galleries, restaurants, museums and specialty shops. Spend a tranquil day strolling on the narrow, cobblestone streets that lead you back into time that’s absent of traffic lights, modern vehicles or glaring billboards. Long a community of artisans and later artists from around the world, San Miguel has strictly maintained its extensive cultural qualities and quaint small town charm.

This special tour during the Christmas season will be led by Darlene Tenes of CasaQ and Rose Mendoza, buyer of Ay Dios Mio Shop. You’ll stay in an exclusive private villa with a beautiful garden, spectacular views and attentive staff. Then you’ll be treated to an insider’s tour of the best shopping finds and Mexican cuisine in two World Heritage sites including a day trip to Guanajuato, Mexican cooking class and historic walking tour.
